Holiday Scented Non-toxic Candles for the Home
I shared my favorite fall scented non-toxic candles for the home this past fall and you all loved it, so I am coming back with a holiday version!
When looking for a non-toxic or a cleaner version of a candle, here is what to look for:
Wicks: Make sure your wicks are not made with metal. Sometimes the metal is still woven into the wick and you will know because it will burn black and create residue on the jar. Look for 100% cotton or natural wood wicks.
Wax: Waxes can be filled with chemicals and release into the air when burned. Look for soy or coconut wax and beeswax candles. You can even go one step further and look for sustainably sources and eco-friendly waxes as well. Make sure it says 100% soy or coconut so it doesn’t have extra chemicals like paraffin and petroleum waxes.
Fragrance: Look for candles made with 100% natural essential oils. Also look for phthalate-free to be on the label.

Cypress and Fir: I have come to really love Paddywagon candles. I picked up this holiday scented candle at a local shop and loved the green mercury glass. Mercury glass is so beautiful during the holidays, especially when candle light is reflecting from it. This candle has notes of red berries, mistletoe leaves, sandalwood, vanilla bean, Douglas fir and garland. Doesn’t get more holiday than that! Here you can shop all their holiday scented candles.
Christmas by Sweet Water: Fresh cut trees, apple cider and orange peel are just some of the holiday notes in this candle which just screams holiday.
Bonfire Marshmallow by Winter Bee Shop: If you love Marshmallow Fireside by Bath and Body Works, this is a great non-toxic alternative at a very budget friendly price. Made of 100% beeswax, a cotton wick and burns without hardly any smoke.
Christmas Tree by Winter Bee Shop: Who doesn’t want their house to smell like a Christmas tree? Made of 100% beeswax, a cotton wick and burns hardly any smoke. Order both this and Bonfire Marshmallow and have the perfect, most cozy holiday home!
Pie Crust by The Little Market: One of my favorite holiday memories is baking cookies and pies with my family. It’s one of those activities when you smell the cookies and pies baking you know the holiday’s are here! Dirty Gingerbread by Heretic: This a new to me brand that I found on Credo as I was working on my Budget Friendly Clean Beauty gift guide. Notes of vanilla, ginger, black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and more, this candle sounds delicious and perfectly captures the warmth of the season.
Capri Blue Fir and Firewood candle from Anthropologie: This candle is one of my FAVORITE candles. I buy it every year and love the woodsy scent. It’s not a perfectly clean non-toxic candle, but it is a soy wax blend and a cotton wick which is great.
